Professionally, Dr Bill Hennrikus has spent a lifetime caring for children as a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, serving as a US Navy Captain, teaching generations of medical students and residents, leading global health initiatives across the world, and shaping his field through research and education. But that's not really why he's here on the podcast.

He's here because he’s a genuinely good human and behind his remarkable medical career is a fascinating human story, and it’s stories like Bill’s that we're trying to preserve.

When Kate and I first imagined Humans in Medicine, we kept coming back to the same question: Whose stories would be a genuine loss if they were never recorded?
